Personal background: Qais Hassan was born in 1974 in Bagrami district, Kabul province. He is married and has four daughters and two sons. He is interested in reading. His first language is Pashto and he also speaks Dari, English and German.

Education: Hassan finished his primary and secondary education at the Istiqlal High School of Kabul in 2004. He got his diploma in Business Administration and Management from Hewad University in Peshawar, Pakistan in 2004.

Civil society/NGO connections: Hassan is a member of the Hassankhil Tribal Council.

Previous occupation: Hassan is a businessman trading in construction materials, oil and gas, and vehicles.
