Wolesi Jirga limits sessions in order to counter against Covid 19

The Lower House of Parliament on Wednesday’s plenary session made decision to limit plenary and commissions’ sessions in order to counter against Covid 19 and preventing of its spread.

The session was held under the chairmanship of Mir Rahman Rahmani, while legislators made decision with majority votes to limit the plenary and commissions’ sessions for a while (once in a week, plenary and commissions’ sessions) in order to struggle against Covid 19 and preventing of its spread.

In accordance to agenda, head of administrative reforms and civil services commission and chief of national development authority were invited in today’s session to provide information about cancelling of computerize exam for 2nd and 3rd posts and delay for implementing of some projects, how hiring of employees and contracts, but due to some reasons they were not attend in the session which faced with serious criticize of MPs.

People representatives says, wide corruption is at the contract and hiring of staffs at the national development authority.

At the meantime, lawmakers accused in corruption the head of administrative reforms and civil services commission (ARCSC), they went on to say, officials of this administration avoids for providing of information to the Nation House.

These MPs urged that decision should be made about existence of corruption in both aforementioned organs.

Overall in today’s session varieties of important of issues were discussed.

MPs from Sar-e- Pul,  Kunduz, Ghor, Badakhshan, Ghazni and  Herat provinces  expressed their concerns in relation to intensifying of war in these provinces, they says, due to carelessness of government officials, a few districts  of the provinces including a military unit collapsed into the Taliban hand.

Overall, MPs expressed their concerns over ongoing war in some other provinces of the country, they says, lack of reaching to food and necessary military equipment and lack of resolute support from security forces is the  factor of insecurity, they emphasized that  urgent attention should be paid in this regard.

People representatives says, the country’s security and defensive forces are able to defense from the country’s land, but, lack of correct leadership and inattention of officials caused increase of insecurity and collapsing of some districts.

These MPs says, the ground of meeting should be provided with President in order to share the peoples’ problems with him.

At the meantime, some legislators asked people to be alongside with the country’s security forces in order to defense from system and stand against Taliban.

At the meantime, these MPs said, reforms should be brought at the leadership level of security organs in order to pave the ground for people to be unit for support of the system.

Overall, MPs expressed their concerns in relation to outbreak of the 3rd wave of Covid 19, some legislators by criticizing on public health ministry, says, officials for the ministry were not success in treatment of Coronavirus patients.

Lack of implementing of the salaries increase plan for government’s employees and teachers by ministry of finance was faced with MPs criticize, these MP emphasized that the salaries increase plan should be implemented.

The Wolesi Jirga chairman, Mir Rahman Rahmani by expressing concern in relation to the country’s condition, instructed to the related commissions to question related security officials in this regard.

Overall, Rahmani expressed his concern about outbreak of the 3rd wave of Covid 19 and criticized for lack of sufficient and necessary facilities at country’s hospitals, instructed to the health and physical education commission to probe in this regard.

In relation to increase of salaries for government’s employees and teachers, Rahmani said, officials for ministry of finance have expressed their commitment at the financial commission for implementing of the salaries increase plan in Sonbola month.
